The original photograph
This one seems a bit washed out.
Of all the changes, I think I prefer the Automatic Color Balance with the default setting best.
Perhaps playing more with these settings would result in a better picture.
I don't think changing the saturation on this particular picture was right.
After learning about the problems with photos that are back lit, I tried the same process with a picture taken indoors. Here are the results.
  
  
 
The last picture combining contrast, sharpening, and clarifying looks the best to me.
