USING SELECTIONS
The Lesson
This is the original picture of one of my grandghildren. I want to feature only the child and remove the other distractions in the photograph.
On the left, I have cropped the picture to highlight the child. On the right, I used a selection of the grass to cover up the white toy.
In the third photo, I used a larger selection of grass to begin covering up the person in the background. Once in place, I lowered the opacity of the new layer and erased the grass that covered the child's face. Finally, I took selections of the chain fence and repeated it along the back, using the deformation tool to add the proper perspective. I also cloned parts of the house and trees to complete the picture and remove the peson on the right.
