Kieren - 6/7 Months
Kieren is now half a year old! He has been with us for three months, but it seems like he has been a part of our family forever. He hit the 100 pound mark at his 6 month vet check up and is at least 2 months ahead of where Daegan was at the same age.
Our pup is so much fun to watch. One of his favorite things is a hollow bone filled with peanut butter or cheese. He will work at that bone until is is completely clean inside. He also is really laid back. He takes his meals while resting on the floor! He behaves the same in obedience class. It is not unusual to see Kieren taking a little nap between practice of each command!
In this picture, you can see how big Kieren has gotten. It won't be long now that he will be equal to his buddy. Kieren and Daegan are sharing a joke in the middle picture. And the third picture shows both dogs on squirrel alert. The bird feeder seems to double as a squirrel feeder. The dogs think it is their job to keep our yard squirrel free and the birds full and happy!
The time has finally arrived. Until this point, we could at least share the couch. Looks like all is lost now. The couch potatoes have taken over. We don't usually dress the dogs for Halloween, but this year, since it was Kieren's first, he asked if he could dress as a brindle like is Auntie Daegan!
Kieren graduated from his first class on November 2, 2010. There was no puppy class scheduled, so this was a companion dog class. Kieren was the youngest dog. I'm a little sad that he didn't get to play with other puppies in a puppy class as Daegan did when she was young. But, after a slow, kind of scary start, Kieren did really well at the end. We will continue to work at home so that Kieren can earn his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) award in his next obedience class.
